如何在写作的时候装腔作势


我们从外刊里面提取了如下几个点

# 结构

1. 来注意下这里的展开结构:

# 句式

1. 引入例子的方式

用say

Say a customer walks into a luxury store and is greeted with an askance look from a salesperson and no offer of assistance.

用 think of

Think of the compounding power of reinvesting interest and stock dividends over time. 

用consider

Consider an extreme example: Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger is the pilot of a USAirways jetliner that, shortly after taking off from New York’s La Guardia Airport in January 2009, hit a flock of birds and lost both its engines.

3. 引他人/反方观点的方式

At work, of course, the “what could we do” person is also the one who is seen as slowing things down. 

4. 引入话题

5. 引入数字

Those who can get to see a doctor often pay a crippling price. More than 800m people spend over 10% of their annual household income on medical expenses; nearly 180m spend over 25%. 

6. 名词解释的方式

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, 某个概念 is “…. 字典解释…”


 “Community” is derived from the Anglo-Norman and Middle French communité, meaning, primarily, “joint ownership.” 

6. 表达句式

it’s one thing to…. It’s quite another to …

it can come as a surprise to learn that… 

It may not be a coincidence that 

 ….requires hard work and some luck but not much genius. (感觉这句话适合很多场景)


# 用词


1.  ring 的使用:Raymond Williams’s observation still rings true. ring 在这里是“听上去”的意思

2. no wonder 的使用:No wonder we constantly measure ourselves against our peers.

3. team 做动词:Jennifer Merluzzi, an assistant professor at Tulane, teamed up with Damon Phillips, ….


4. fuel 的使用:A lot of things could be fueling it

5. involve 的使用:shouldered full responsibility for chores that involve cleaning up after someone else: doing the laundry, cleaning the toilet, washing dishes.

6. assume 的使用:Over the past several decades, men have assumed a greater share of household chores.

7. breed 的使用:That breeds resentment.

9. prey 的使用:What preys on our minds, when we aren’t updating our Facebook page or in spinning class,….

12. 说明某物特别重要:sth. has a monumental consequence

13. be subjected to : 受到… 的影响

14. zero in on sth. = focus on. Sth. 

15. “努力”的另外一种表达:squeeze every last drop out of life

16. “累”的另外一种表达:get close to the redline of flaming out

17. “新观点”同义表达:


new perspective = new eyes = open eyes to new ways = move out of their comfort zones.


18. 有经验的leader:experienced leaders = accomplished leaders = skilled leaders

19. zero in on sth. = focus on sth.
